Top down photo of a paper map spread out on a table. Objects are arranged artfully around the map, including a mug of tea placed on a laptop, a passport, an Instax camera, a Nikkon camera, and sunglasses. A person is extending their arm and pointing at a location on the map. Their face can't be seen, only the brim of their brown hat. Their skin is white and their nails are manicured.

As a person with a deep curiosity about cultures and experiences beyond my own, I've been hoping to spend time living and working outside Australia for as long as I can remember.

Excitingly, I'm now realising that goal. My partner and I are in South America, adventuring as digital nomads.

This is a great opportunity for personal and professional development. I'm looking forward to new experiences helping me develop greater skills when working cross-culturally, creative problem solving, and encountering new ideas and philosophies. I am also looking forward to eating a lot of empanadas.

What is a Digital Nomad?

A digital nomad is a modern-day professional who uses technology and remote work opportunities to lead a "location-independent" lifestyle.

Basically, armed with a laptop, a reliable internet connection, and a passion for adventure, as a digital nomad I'm taking remote work to it's furthest possibility and working from any corner of the world - while immersing myself in diverse cultures and experiences.

Venturing into South America

I'm excited to visit South America for the first time. Throughout the journey, we plan to visit various countries, each offering its own unique experiences and opportunities. From bustling cities to remote villages, I look forward to absorbing the sights, sounds, and flavours that South America has to offer.

Working with Clients

I continue my consulting practice while overseas, using good planning, communication, and effective digital tools to continue to deliver high-quality work.

Services I offer include funding application support, research-based recommendations on inclusive policies, scoping disability and mental health projects, fostering community engagement, evaluating impact, and workshop facilitation. I am committed to delivering results that align with your organisation's goals. My work draws on 14 years experience across a range of sectors focused on equity and inclusion.

For clients and collaborators in North America and Europe, time zones will enable much easier scheduling for meetings and calls as work days will have more overlap than when I was based in Australia. I look forward to seeing colleagues in Australia and New Zealand at the start of their workdays and the end of mine while I'm overseas.

While communication rhythms might be different due to working in a different timezone, I continue to be available through email and my Australian phone number.

In general internet coverage is reliable across South America, but there may be the occasional outage at inconvenient times. Regardless, I will remain adaptable to unexpected challenges and potential changes in plans, working with you to deliver timely and high-quality results.

Beyond time zones and logistics, I continue to pay close attention to data security and confidentiality.

I will be re-commencing usual work hours from 24 January (timezone GMT-3). Please reach out if you're interested in working together and I'll be in touch at the earliest opportunity.

I acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land where I grew up, the Whadjuk Noongar people, and pay respects to Elders past and present. I celebrate the stories, culture and traditions of all First Nations communities around the world.
